Let's Kickoff the 2020 WiseGuy Season

WiseGuysNations,

I hope you all have enjoyed your offseason thus far. It brings me great pleasure to inform you that our 8th Annual WiseGuys Fantasy Football League will commence. This year compared to other years brings many challenges due to COVID, the situation has evolved further, and we are dealing with a significant global challenge. I completely understand that this is uneasy for everyone who has been impacted by this pandemic and I pray for you and your families during this time. Most of you have probably not had a vacation yet let alone step foot outside of your home during this Pandemic. I can assure you that Fantasy Football will help distract you from the world around us. You may have already heard this quote before, but it holds true during this time “if you get your mind right, you get your life right”.

Our Draft Day will be August 29th at 4pm and the total amount is $120, but here are some key points and guidelines for Draft Day:
  • If you are sick, do not come to my house and see you next year. I cannot make an exception to one person staying home and others having to come to my house.
  • Bring a mask and wear it. If you are greater than six feet away, you can remove the mask.
  • DO NOT COME LATE AND BE RESPECTFUL OF EVERYONE'S TIME!
  • Bring your own chair (lawn, fold-able, etc.)
  • I will provide food, but I will be ordering Jimmy John’s which is individually wrapped instead of pizza. I will buy chips that are in the 25 cent bags instead of a community bowl. I will buy soda and beer, which will be in coolers. If you like a specific beer, you are welcome to bring your own. Since the soda and beer will be in a community cooler, you can use the wipe provided to clean off your beverages. When the food is ready, we will go up individually instead of everyone going at one time.
  • There will be multiple stations of hand sanitizer for your use, but please bring your own too.
  • I will mark in my garage places for you to place your chair to maintain proper social distancing.
  • My brothers and I will be the only ones who will be grabbing labels and placing them on the board.
  • I will clean off all items that can be sanitized before we use them, the clipboards will have the following attached:
    • Pens
    • Cheat Sheets
    • Your team’s roster chart
    • Zip lock with wipe

The following is our current Draft Order:

Now, the most important part of this whole email is the Payout Structure. As you have previously read, the amount is $120, which the league is $105 and the $15 dollars covers the draft board, food, and beverages. WiseGuys will payout on the following:
  • 1st Place - $600
  • 2nd Place - $300
  • 3rd Place - $100
  • Most total points at the end of the season: $60
    • Please note, this is a new payout channel compared to previous years and it would behoove you to put your best lineup every week.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

May the force be with you all,

Commissioner Negro
