Draft order/League development/Draft day

 Good evening my fellow WiseGuys,

Lets get straight into it! We have our finalized draft order for our 2021 fantasy football season! (Drumroll please🥁🥁🥁)

With the draft lottery coming to a conclusion the order is as follows: Friendly reminder the teams with the (*) had trash 💩records last year and were entered in the lottery.

Draft Day

Now with the draft order locked in we can focus on our keeper! With our newbie joining the league (Welcome Sean!) the draft day has been voted on to be SEPTEMBER 6TH MONDAY 7PM.  Please have your keeper sent to me by AUGUST 27th FRIDAY 11PM. This will allow us mock and research before our draft. 

League Development

As the Commish I made phone calls to each WiseGuy and talked about my reasoning for the 1 keeper and added flex. I would eventually like for our league to become a dynasty league. From all the phone conversations the feedback was very positive, but with an underlying issue. We all really like to RE-DRAFT. We really like getting together as a league, having some food and drinks, and talking crap (Remember that one year Roberts took Aaron Rodgers first overall?!? Pedro drafted a dude that didn't even have a sticker?!? Mike B. drafting Andrew Luck in the 6th rd. when Luck had announced his retirement earlier that morning?!?) Yes those are the moments we live for. So without trying to make too many changes before our season starts I would like for us all to think about the dynasty dynamic in WiseGuys. Please Please Please DRAFT with the INTENT on KEEPING all your players and making it a startup dynasty league... It will have to come to a vote at the END OF THE SEASON if we want to run with our new startup dynasty league or keep it as a keeper league. I will be interviewing each and everyone of you during the season and gathering your thoughts on this topic during my presidential visits. I look forward to seeing you all this year and good luck to each and everyone of you besides Alex... How does this guy jump MIKE and I in the lottery?? The man only had 2 lottery balls... I hope your first pick retires the next day after you draft him.

New Commish 

A New Empire

 

I want to welcome each and every one of you to another glorious year of Fantasy football!👏👏👏 As you all know there has been a slight change in leadership, but no need to fret, everything will continue to be business as usual. Before we get into the business side. Quick recap and shout out to the winner(s) last year. Tony did manage to pull from the bottom of the bottoms as a 7th seed and win the championship. Congratulations on your first ring Tony you overcame the odds! Tony was just  fitted for his VVS all certified diamond encrusted ring💍🏆. Victor came in second place.. clobbered in the Superbowl... Coming in third place... honestly no one really cares... but if you must know... it was Hector and his Melonheads🍉. Pedro did have the most points last season but that didn’t amount to much besides being bounced in the first round🏀. Now that we are caught up, I am excited to announce we have everyone returning this year!  (Is this a sign for a Possible dynasty league startup?!)  Maybe… But now isn’t a time for maybes... Now is a time for action... As your new 2021 interim WiseGuys Commissioner I will be ushering in a few changes, but more importantly, I will be building upon this great league that our beloved Commish has paved the way for me to do. So, without further ado I present to you all the changes for our upcoming 2021 WiseGuys fantasy football season.🏈

Changes

• There will be no kicker position. (Sorry guys no one can pick that young hoe y'all always like to talk about)
• The kicker position that is being removed will be replaced with an additional FLEX position. For a total of TWO FLEX positions.
• To adjust for this additional FLEX we will have to adjust the pool of available players
• We will be keeping only 1 PLAYER this year for the adjustment of the additional FLEX position. 

More of the same

• FAAB will be returning  everyone will have a $100 budget for the year.
• The vetoing system has been reviewed and will continue to be the same. 
• All other scoring otherwise will remain the same 

Draft Day

With being so close to the start of the regular season I feel its best we do an online draft this year. The online draft will be set for August 29th (Sunday) 7pm.
With the draft being online the entry for this year will be $100. The payouts for the league will be as follows.


1st: $750
2nd: $300
3rd: $100
($50 will be used for the purchase of the championship ring)


With the 29th of August being set for draft day I need your keeper (1 keeper) due by August 28th at 11:59pm. No exceptions if one isn't provided by the deadline I will select one for you at my discretion.


Draft order

As for our draft order we do have a lottery in place. These are the number of ping pong balls each team will have based on last years records.

The lottery is TBD time and date but will take place before our draft. More details to follow for the lottery picks.
