Season Finale

Thank you so much for contributing to yet another great season in the best damn Fantasy Football League. I have said it before and I will say it again, you all make WiseGuys great. I am just the man that carries all the weight like Pedro Pascal does for Star Wars. With everything going on in this world, I am glad we were able to have an entire fantasy football season. I truly believe it was a blessing to have this in our lives from the weekly matchups to just simply telling another person on GroupMe how you truly feel about them. Now without further ado, I would like to present the following winners for 2020:

Again, what a great year for Fantasy Football and I appreciate all your contributions this year. As for next steps, I will go into the off season as I always do thinking how I can make WiseGuys better.

Championship Game

 WiseGuysNation, 

We have our two organizations that are going to the  WiseGuys Championship! This will be Tony's and Victor's first time ever going to the Championship game. Tony entered the playoffs as the seventh seed, which will make him the Cinderella team this year. Victor on the other hand has made the playoffs for the first time in a very long time and his inexperience is not showing at all. I don't know what is more exciting to see Tony and Victor in the Championship Game or the one x-wing coming on board Moff Gidean's ship (did not want to spoil it for anyone, but if you know you know). I can't wait to present the WiseGuy Championship ring to either organization next year and may the best organization win. We also have the battle for third place going on, between James and Hector which is no easy task either and both organization should very be proud. As I stated last week, here is the payout structure below:

• 1^st Place ($600) - TBD
• 2^nd Place ($300) - TBD
• 3^rd Place ($100) - TBD
• Most points during the regular season ($60) - Pedro Villarreal

Remember those that are in the Stinky Four that made Consolation Ladder, you are playing to get the most balls during the lottery for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th pick based on how well you do.

Weekly Update

 Hi WiseGuysNation, 

The first week of the playoffs is in the books! I knew Hector (Mr. Ramirez) was going to pull it off, I always believed in you. I am completely shocked that this will be Alan's second time holding the 1st seed and losing to the 8th seed. Last year Alan lost to Mike B., who ended up wining it all as the 8th seed. Can James repeat history and win it all as the 8th seed this year? Wait there more...this is Alan's second time having a QB on the bench that outperformed his starter, I am sorry Alan, but there is always next year. In addition to this upset, we had another one with the 7th seed held by Tony beating the 2nd seed held by Pedro. I was shocked to see Pedro lose it this early, since he had the most points overall during the regular season. This is why we play fantasy football boys, it doesn't matter where you sit in rankings, the number of press conferences you hold, the amount of points you have during the season. The only thing that matters is that you select the best player that week and do your best not to leave points on the bench or over analyze for that matter. Congratulations Tony on advancing to the next round, this could finally be your year! Victor not only surprised me making the playoffs, but getting past the first round is truly an accomplishment to his organization. I am sorry Eric you had an early exit, but I know you will come back stronger than ever next year. 

I am excited to say that we will have a new WiseGuy Champion this year and congratulations to James, Victor, Tony, and Hector for making the next round. At the end, they just wanted it more compared to Alan, Pedro, Aldo, and Eric. 

Here is the payout structure for WiseGuys:

• Pedro Villarreal - Most points during the regular season: $60

Please note, due to the current negotiations in the Senate for the Covid-19 Stimulus Bill and until I get the clearance from Mitch McConnell, no WiseGuys payments will be distributed until this is resolved.....just kidding. Payment will be distributed to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and "Most points" after the conclusion of the final game, which is typically Tuesday, unless a game is rescheduled due to COVID. 

Now I saved this for last because there are great teams, there are poor teams, there is 50 feet of crap, and then there is us (Money Ball quote) in the Consolation Playoff.  I beat Mr.3x and my brother beat Declans. This is important due to the amount of balls you will have during the lottery on draft day. I know this is new for us (Me, Mike B, and Manny), but we can always ask Declans since he has been here before.

Weekly Update

What an amazing week of football. We have teams that sneaked in and teams that sneaked out, but without further ado here is my rap to you (please play Eminem "Stan Instrumental"): 

Dear WiseGuys, I wrote you back to back weeks looks like I stopped falling,

I left my phone, work laptop, family time and my wife thinks I hit rock bottom, 

Last time I was this consistent was back in Autumn, 

But here I go causing some problems, 

Sometimes when I type the weekly, I check my grammar before I type them, 

But anyways, let's look up, Alan is at the top, that's what's up, 

Pedro ended up with second and worked like a doctor,

since he has the most points you should call him father, 

Declans did not make the playoffs again, heard he will adopt a daughter, guess what he is going to name her? He will name her Scrawny,   

I read the exchanges on GroupMe and I am sorry, 

all those messages are way too funny,

I heard this everyday, Commish update the rules around trade, I am your biggest fan,

I am even an original 10 member and maybe fam,

Hector has a room full of his own inventory, posters, and pictures of Walter Mercado man,   

I was told what I did with the FAAB was phat, 

Anyway, I hope 3X adapts, and makes it back, 

His chats don't carry any weight, not my words, truly yours, your biggest fan,

and we have to see you all play throughout,

Dear WiseGuys, specifically Eric, I haven't heard from you, text when you get a chance, 

I am not mad, I just think it's messed up you don't answer your biggest fan,

Aldo if you didn't want to hang out after draft day outside of my house, 

you didn't have to, but from Commish to Commish you could of accepted the trade I sent you,

My little brother Nito is only 30 years old,

We waited that day in the blistering heat,

I look at the all the match ups and the one that catches my eye is Victor versus Eric. They both have something to prove. This will be Victor's first time making the playoffs in a while, but who is keeping track. His matchup against Eric is no walk in the park. Eric has definitely established himself one the best organizations making it to the playoffs two years in a row, but never winning it all. Prove me wrong Eric! Once in a while, we get that Cinderella team, could this be James or Tony this year? I say for good luck purposes, don't shave during the playoffs. Lastly, our next matchup is Blood versus Blood between Aldo and Hector, my pick to win this game is definitely Mr. Ramirez, you got this!

As for you bottom bottom feeders, Mike B, Mike M, (purposely not including me, looks bad as a Commish) and Manny do your best during the Consolation Bracket as this will help you get more balls in the lottery during Draft Day. For example, look at Victor, he did a full 180 with his organization.

It has been a while since I last wrote to you all. Again, my apologies for not being on top of my game, yes I do hold myself accountable. Working from home and being on a computer most of the day resulted in me not wanting to look at a computer when I was done with work. With all that being said, I am here now to give you the best damn analysis of where we stand as a league and give praise/insult to you all as you have been accustomed to. Before I get into that, here is my song (please play The Weeknd "Blinding Lights" instrumental) to you:

I've been tryna call for some bucks
Manny, Aldo, Alan have been without FAAB for long enough

Mike(3X) has been going through withdrawals

Hey, hey, hey.......

Well that was refreshing, have not done one of those in a while. This is the last week of the regular season, so do your best and maybe the fantasy football gods will do the rest.  At this point in time, the point leader for this year is Pedro with a total of 1,650 points and Hector is in a distant 2nd with 1,547 points. Alan currently holds 1st place, but that can change instantly if Pedro wins this week. I would like to take a brief second to honor Mr.3X. You had a great run this year, who am I kidding, you completely stunk it up and embarrassed me as your cousin with your pathetic record of 3-9. You are the first team to officially be eliminated from the playoffs this year. Regardless of what anyone says, I will always remember you as the Waiver Wire Whore prior to this year and unfortunately you did not adapt well with the FAAB. 

On the topic of FAAB, y'all need to better manager your damn money, but I can't believe Manny, Alan, and Aldo have no money at all. Good luck during your run in the playoffs, I hope all your players stay healthy. The person with the most FAAB money is Victor with 69 bucks. I would also like to give a shout out to Victor, who came out of nowhere this year and rose above the ashes he has left for so many years. On to other news, it will definitely be interesting for anyone who holds a 5-7 and 4-8 record, you all pretty much have a chance to make/miss the playoffs.  The match up of the week is between Pedro and Victor due to the fact Victor controls Pedro's seeding in the playoffs.
